&lt;p&gt;In case anyone else runs into this, you can just stop the &amp;quot;Network Associates McShield&amp;quot; and &amp;quot;Network Associates Task Manager&amp;quot; services prior to running the adprep commands (instead of uninstalling the Mcafee software).&lt;/p&gt;
